Endurance

Every day I just endure;
Each night pushed afar.
Standing in the nightmare of a storm;
Despair whirling but to no end.
The rain doesn’t wet me,
The wind cannot move.
Being here but not;
Being seen but forgot.

To sum: I am a father, husband, English patriot, social democrat, republican and atheist. Looking for opportunity to promote our heritage and public art, and an advocate for localism and sustainability. I am a champion for independent traders, and for engagement with ethical business but against cronyism and corporatism - and it's hold on local politics. Pushing to promote the ideal of community; to make politicians and politics more accountable and democratic. Too much energy is consumed fighting apathy rather than pursuing genuine and meaningful change. I am an advocate of celebrating diversity and tolerance. Where it is necessary to fight prejudice and ignorance. There is nothing to be gained by looking backwards, always look to what we can do better walking ahead. We should be looking to work with nature, to harness it's beauty and resources to further the opportunity and reward of all. We should not be looking for short-term wins and destruction to profit the few. Eternally hoping to encourage the few to stand up and take a step forward....and always be true to thyself.
