You should look away

Don’t. Just don’t.
You should look away.
If you open the door..
It will never fully close.

You’re touching the handle.
Drop it. Let me help you.
No. No. No. Please listen.
You’ll be forever pushing against it.

I know. I know. You had to do it.
It will not close though will it?
All darkness is sucked in,
Can you feel even breath draw?

I will sit with you and candle lit.
We’ll still eyes on flame not shadow.
I will hold you tight against my breast,
Our feet pushed hard against door rest.
