For my soulmate
After the sirocco of our love making when first together,
As a calming breeze eased over our worn naked bodies,
We first, with intent, looked into each other’s eyes.
In a moment we felt a jarring memory of long ago.
We have met before. There, in embrace, re-united souls.
Together for a thousand life times, and bound for a thousand more,
We now know whatever tragedy or separation makes of us today,
All of our tomorrows we will renew our living sacred vow,
This life we walk today will soonest pass without regret.
As our mortal dust rises to the stars our love will start anew.
Our bodies will be taken and until we again feel the comfort of flesh,
let us hold and keep each other tight. Goodnight.
